While it may be difficult to imagine now, Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus were once awkward young teenagers who dated each other. It’s only to be expected, then, that their first kiss would be mostly awful. And based on Nick’s telling of the story, it sure was — at least for Miley.

“The first person I kissed was Miley Cyrus and I kissed her outside a California Pizza Kitchen in Hollywood — very romantic,” he said during a segment for BBC Radio 1. “I’d just had a pizza that had onions all over it. I’m sure that my breath smelled terrible.”

Host Nick Grimshaw then chimed in to ask Jonas whether Cyrus would remember the exchange, to which Jonas replies, “I don’t know. I’d have to ask her. But I’m sure she does — it was probably pretty potent.”

Jonas was then baited into playing a very PG game of “Snog, Marry, Avoid,” and his options were first-kiss Miley, his buddy and current co-headliner Demi Lovato and rumored romantic interest Kate Hudson.

The "Bacon" singer chose to go the diplomatic route, as any media-trained celebrity would, opting to "avoid" Miley due to their tragic first kiss and "marry" Demi partly because they’re good friends and also because she picked him first.

“Demi and I are really good friends so I’d marry her because you want to marry your best friend — even though it’s weird to say that,” he said. “I watched her in one of these that she did and she said she’d marry me, so I have to pay it back."

Then he got real subtle with things, indicating he'd "snog" Kate Hudson since she's the last woman standing: “And then I guess snog Kate Hudson, right? That’s logical. Makes sense.” Yes, Nick. LOGICAL.
