Nick Jonas may not wear a purity ring anymore, but he's working on new music with one. Well, sort of.

The "Jealous" singer tweeted about an unlikely musical collaboration with Corin Roddick, one half of the electronica duo Purity Ring, writing, "Amazing session tonight with Corin from one of my favorite groups @PURITY_RING tonight. Can't wait for you all to hear this new music."

Nick is currently writing and recording for his upcoming sophomore solo effort. He gave fans a taste of the album's sound when he released its lead single, titled "Levels," last week. It's a funk-infused track that falls just under three minutes long, and he's set to perform the song live for the first time at the upcoming 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, airing Sunday August 30.

And speaking of his former purity-ring-wearing days (because how could we not use this perfect opportunity to do so?), Nick opened up about why he no longer wears one late last year. He said (via US Weekly), "This is a real growth in me and not something I'm doing anymore. But I've got my set of values, things that are important to me now at this point in my life and that's all that matters.”

He continued, saying, "I've had an incredibly intense journey with faith and religion and my own growth. My belief in God is still very strong and important to me as a person and I think that's all that should matter. I grew up in a church environment and still have love for the church."
