Nick Lachey Begins Final ‘Countdown’ to Wedding Day

The highly anticipated wedding between Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo is quickly approaching, according to the former 98 Degrees singer.

"The countdown's begun," Lachey tells PEOPLE. "You know, the clock is ticking, so we're getting dangerously close. That's all I can say."

Although Minnillo has commented in the past that a winter-themed wedding would be ideal, her hubby-to-be was keeping a tight lip on how much of their wedding day details are made public knowledge.

As he closes in on the final stretch before taking another walk down the aisle, Lachey jokes that he is not concerned with getting in tip-top shape for their special day.

"I'm just going to let myself go," he says. "She loves me for who I am, skinny or fat."

Adding on a  serious note, "No. Of course. Everyone likes to get in shape and try to look good on [his] wedding day, at least. So, I'll have to start hitting the treadmill regiment to get ready for it."

Lachey did reveal that neither the menu nor the cake details have been set in stone, but he and his friends are focusing on planning his bachelor party!
