Nicki Minaj – 2012 New Album Preview
Get ready, Barbz! The Nicki Minaj 2012 album is getting closer and closer to hitting retailers. Minaj will unleash 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' on Feb. 14. Forget chocolates and roses! Minaj really knows how to deliver the perfect Valentine's Day gift to her adoring fans, providing them with a brand-new LP in the style of her menacing, malicious British alter ego Roman Zolanski.
Nicki Minaj spoke about her 2012 album, saying that 'Roman Reloaded' is allowing her to "let loose" in the studio. Speaking to VIBE, Minaj said, "I have to say that I'm probably the happiest I've ever been, ever, in my career because I'm finally putting things into perspective and I really didn't have fun recording 'Pink Friday,' but I'm having fun recording 'Roman Reloaded' because I'm just letting loose and I'm not over-thinking things anymore."
She continued, "I'm just being in the moment and that's what I didn't really get to do with the first album because I was so, so worried and so pressured. But now, the Barbz and I, we've proven ourselves and so now I'm just like having fun. I did the Britney tour, I did the Wayne tour, and I've been doing a lot of TV stuff and, you know, all that good stuff. But I could not wait to get back in the studio and just let Roman run wild and so now we're doing that."
So far, we know of two songs that will appear on the Nicki Minaj 2012 album 'Roman Reloaded.' Minaj has dropped 'Roman in Moscow' (listen here), which she calls a prelude to her 2012 album. "'Roman in Moscow' is like a teaser to 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,' which will drop on Valentine's Day," Minaj said to MTV. "When I say it's a teaser, it's like a trailer to the movie, it's like setting the stage and I just wanted to touch the surface. It's the wackest thing on 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.'" Minaj has reportedly shot a video for the hard-hitting tune, so you can expect that visual to impact in the coming weeks.
The second song Minaj has dropped off of 'Roman Reloaded' is entitled 'Stupid Hoe' (listen here), with a video for the track expected to hit the Internet soon, as well. Minaj teased the video via Twitter, writing, "Next shot is in a bathing suit and [hairstylist] terrence got me eating fried chkn and carrot cake ... Gettin my nailz done. still shootin the vid. 2 more looks!!!!"
Are you ready for a ferocious dose of Roman? The Nicki Minaj 2012 album 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' is slated for release on Feb. 14, 2012, so you better get yourself mentally prepared for a verbal onslaught from the no-holds-barred rapper.
Update: Nicki Minaj has pushed back the release date for her 'Roman Reloaded' album to April 2.
