Nicki Minaj ticked off Catholic groups and confused fans with her 'Exorcist'-inspired performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards, which featured an exorcism, levitation, a faux pope and her alter egos while she performed 'Roman's Revenge' and 'Roman Holiday.' All the hullabaloo surrounding her performance is lost on the rapper herself. It's just part of a movie she's authoring.

“I don’t know what is the big issue?” she reportedly asked at a MAC Viva Glam event on Wednesday (Feb. 15) in New York City.

The 'Super Bass' rapper continued, “You know how people write plays and movies? That’s what I did. I wrote that and I gave the world a tiny little preview of what was to come. And so I have to perform it on the set in which it would be in the movie, right?"

We're not sure if the "movie" Ms. Minaj is referring to is a symbolic term for her 'Roman Reloaded' album or an actual, physical movie script she's writing, but either way she certainly stirred up a lot of drama with her theatrical Grammy performance.

While the perf was highly entertaining, it did lead to banter that Minaj was trying to mimic stunts often pulled by Lady Gaga. Remember how Gaga was carried onto the 2011 Grammy Awards red carpet encased in a giant egg? This year, Minaj walked the carpet and talked to the media accompanied by a fake pope. Minaj is certainly going as over-the-top with her performances as she is with her wigs.

'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' drops on April 3. As for the rumored movie? Who knows. We'll be watching, eyes fixed on Nicki, regardless.
