Nicki Minaj Plotting Headlining Tour in 2012

If you miss Nicki Minaj when she opened for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour this past summer, don't fret. The rap goddess confirmed on her Twitter page that she is prepping her own headlining tour in 2012. When gossip blogger Perez Hilton asked Minaj when she will hit the road, she tweeted, "Top of the year, babez."

After opening for her boss Lil Wayne on his I Am Still Music tour last spring and then for Britney, Minaj is now a season vet of the road and is more than capable of staging her own major tour. Her onstage antics have become video fodder for YouTube, especially, her infamous lap dances she gives to an unsuspecting fan. "I always like to raise the bar for myself, and that's what I did," she told MTV about her outrageous stage persona. "I think it's important to give people what they paid for."

As far as costumes, who can bring it better than the Harajuku Barbie? From her Anime-inspired outfits, to her large multi-colored afro wigs to her poultry-inspired jewelry, when it comes to fashion, Minaj wears some of the most outrageous clothes on the road. "I sort of wanted to tone it down and sort of bring the color back from my own tour," she says. "So I wanted it to be very sophisticated and sort of, you know, futuristic and all over the place. But sort of cagey and sort of epic."

So for her excursion next year, we can only expect Minaj's wardrobe to be over the top and beyond what we can comprehend is actual clothes. I mean, did you see her outfit at the MTV Video Music Awards? We rest our case.
