Nicki Minaj to Embark on Pink Friday Tour This Summer
Attention all Barbz! Nick Minaj has announced dates for her Pink Friday Tour, which starts this summer. This will be her first headlining trek since opening for Lil Wayne and Britney Spears on their respective tours last year.
The 15-city North American jaunt will kick off July 16 in Chicago and will hit several major cities like Detroit (June 17), Atlanta (July 22), Miami (July 24) and Las Vegas (Aug. 4) along the way. The trek wraps up on Aug. 12 in Vancouver.
Fans in New York, Philadelphia and New Jersey were upset that Minaj wasn't coming through their city and voiced their displeasure on Twitter. But there's a logical explanation for the exclusion. You see, Minaj is doing radio shows in San Francisco (May 10), Los Angeles (May 12), Philadelphia (June 1) and New York (June 3) so she couldn't double book those cities again.
"So just KNOW that I haven't forgotten!!! Routing & Venue Size play a big part barbz," she tweeted to her Barbz on her Twitter account. She then added, "I also can't double up in the cities where I'm doing radio shows. K?"
Judging by the venues, which seats normally 2,800-7,000 people, this is going to be an intimate tour so tickets are going to sell out quickly.
For Barbz who drop a little extra bones on their tickets, Minaj will set up a meet-and-greet at the venue where they will get a chance to meet the queen herself and get autographs and pictures taken.
Tickets will go on sale May 4. For more information on tickets and VIP deals, surf to her official website MyPinkFriday.com.
