Oh, that Nicki Minaj loves to keep us guessing, and she's not giving any hints about whether or not she will return to Season 13 of 'American Idol' despite threatening to quit throughout Season 12.

During a conference call, Minaj remained coy and noncommittal, poker-faced through and through.

"Would I come back next season? I think people would rather be surprised," the hip-hop vixen said, refusing to drop any sort of hint. "I like to save the mystery and the drama. I'd never give that away. I always say this and I mean it from the bottom of my heart, just that people behind the scenes at 'Idol' have been a dream to work with. I'm just super grateful to have been given the opportunity."

Way to skirt the ish, Nicki. The 'Freedom' singer would not cave to further media pressure to cough up an answer, saying, "I'd rather not speak about that at this time. I feel like I've kind of already answered it, but I would rather not even give any insight because I kind of feel like it's exciting for people to not know who the next season's judges will be."

That's probably jargon for I have a one-year contract and haven't been invited back so I don't want to jinx it or speak out of turn, especially since I might be in contract negotiations that I don't want to jeopardize.

That said, it's entirely possible that 'Idol' might just be a check-cashing gig for Minaj to pass the time and to remain in the public eye while she is between albums.
