Nicki Minaj capped off a non-stop evening that included an MTV Video Music Award win by showing up on stage with Taylor Swift at the Staples Center, where she joined the pop-country singer for a performance of Minaj's smash hit 'Super Bass.'

We've known for months that Swift loves 'Super Bass,' ever since she rapped a portion of the song during a radio interview. But last night she took it to another level by playing the song during her set. Swift rapped the opening lines, "This one is for the boys with the booming system..." before Minaj appeared and took over, as Swift danced and playfully tossed her hair around.

The two young divas from opposite ends of the pop music spectrum seemed right at home on stage together. "I wanna thank her from the bottom of my heart. I love you, Taylor," Minaj said after the song. Swift later tweeted, "The combination of the INSANE crowd tonight and @NICKIMINAJ joining me onstage for "Superbass" = #IwishthatIcouldhavethismoment4life."

'Super Bass' won the VMA for Best Hip-Hop Video last night and reached No. 3 on the singles chart, becoming the highest-charting rap song by a solo female in nine years.
