PopCrush readers are ahead of the curve on Nikki Williams, a 24-year-old who moved to the U.S. from South Africa as a teen to pursue music. Readers voted Williams' single 'Glowing' the winner in our recent About to Pop poll, and it's easy to see why.

'Glowing' boasts a killer hook carried by Nikki's powerful voice. It's one of the more promising dance-pop songs we've heard lately.

Williams, who cites Alanis Morissette as an influence, shares the Canadian singer's desire to write smart words that move beyond the shallow lyrics sometimes found in pop music. Williams co-wrote Lauren Alaina's debut single 'Like My Mother Does,' so she already has one bona fide hit to her credit.

Nikki, who was briefly married to Nicolas Cage's son Weston, reveals an edgy side in her song 'Kill, F---, Marry,' whose title describes all the things she wants to do to a lover.  Based on the strength of her first two songs, we're looking forward to seeing what else the Island Def Jam artist has to offer once she issues a full-length album.
