When North of Nine stopped by PopCrush and performed their single "Can It Be You," we swooned so hard. And then we interviewed them.

"'Can It Be You' happened really organically," frontman Jackson Guthy told us about the band's insanely catchy track, which, we have to say, sounds even better live and acoustic.

"I remember Jack brought in that chord progression. It was four chords and it kind of had that bouncy feel to it," keyboardist Nolan Frank added. "Our manager Randy Jackson came in and was like, 'Yo, what is that?' And we were like, 'We don't really know yet.' And he was like, 'That's the one!'"

"Can It Be You," is, of course, the lead single from the band's debut EP, Alive. And with such an intriguing EP title, we couldn't help but inquire about its meaning.

"We're all young guys who all have a love and passion for music, and it's showing that this is going to be a journey for us and that we're gonna have to work super hard," Jackson revealed. "But we're all young and ready to experience this together as five friends ready to kind of take on all that's to come. And we're alive and ready."
