Try as you might, you really can't beat the system. Octomom Nadya Suleman tried and failed, and she could end up in jail for five years for her efforts. The mom of 14, including the made-her-famous birth of octuplets in January 2009, allegedly received $16,481 in illegal welfare payments.

Suleman is facing fraud charges, since she failed to list nearly $30,000 in income gleaned from personal appearances and video royalties.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office filed a complaint against Suleman, 38, claiming that she illegally received $6,667 from the CalWorks financial assistance program and $9,814 from the CalFresh food aid program in early 2013, according to The L.A. Times.

She was charged with one count of aid by misrepresentation and two counts of perjury by false application for aid. The maximum sentence is five years with eight months in custody for these charges.

Suleman is slated to be arraigned on Friday, Jan. 17. Prosecutors are expected to ask for $25,000 bail to be set at that time.

Octomom also resorted to porn to try and support her kids. She stared in a film in which there where no male actors. That's all we'll say about that -- figure it out.
