One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer Win + Perform at 2014 ARIAs [VIDEOS]

Australia's 2014 ARIAs were good to One Direction and Aussie natives 5 Seconds of Summer, as both bands nabbed awards and rocked some seriously killer performances.

5 Seconds of Summer opened the awards show (um, as well they should) with a totally kickass rendition of 'She Looks So Perfect,' hyping up both the crowd and, let's be real, all of us editors here at PopCrush. We love a band who can just bring it live, every time, and 5SOS never fail to do so, packing their performance with enough energy to light up the entire country (scientific fact). So, of course, they won the ARIA for Song of the Year with the same hit, prompting Calum to quip: "This is the first award our parents have actually seen us get apart from participation in swimming or something, so this is very special."

Not to be outdone, One Direction nabbed Best International Artist for the third (!) year in a row. And they treated fans to a swoon-worthy performance of 'Steal My Girl,' with the crowd singing along just as loud as the band. If there's 'One Thing' (ha) that One Direction can do, it's to get the crowd psyched for a seriously awesome show. And that's exactly what they did.
