One Direction Announces Opening Act for Their World Tour

Get ready for a double dose of boy band! Aussie up and comers 5 Seconds of Summer will be opening for One Direction on their upcoming 110-city world tour! These boys are in for a treat. Screaming girls and hanging with the guys of 1D? Sounds like a sweet deal to us!

So how did 5 Seconds of Summer get this gig of a lifetime? They were discovered on YouTube by 1D's Louis Tomlinson! Shortly after 5SOS moved their operation to London to record their debut album and subsequently struck up a friendship with One Direction. The two boy bands kicked it in the studio and even had an impromptu soccer match. (One Direction won 15-2.)

Talk about a lucky break! The guys will play to their biggest audiences to date starting on Feb. 23 at London's O2 Arena. Here's to a great tour!
