Scary news for fans of U.K. boy band One Direction -- the guys were involved in an accident yesterday that required the attention of paramedics, but they all seem to be just fine.

The Daily Mirror says that a car sped into One Direction's tour bus in Birmingham, England. A source tells the site, "It was pretty terrifying for everyone concerned. All five boys, plus two members of the crew, were in their tour bus when the car rammed into the back of it. Thankfully, it withstood most of the impact but obviously, traveling at speed, the boys couldn’t avoid whiplash. After careening across the road, both vehicles came to a stop. Louis, Zayn and Niall were the worst affected."

The site reports the three members of the group suffered from "severe headaches and spinal pain" and were advised to cancel last night's concert, but went ahead with a "slightly tentative" performance.

Niall reassured fans the incident wasn't a big deal, tweeting, "Guys, thanks for all you messages. We were involved in a really minor accident -- we are all absolutely fine!" None of the other boys have mentioned the crash on Twitter, even though they've all been actively tweeting since last night. Liam Payne focused on more important business, writing, "I really want to win a Brit award."

Popular music history is full of stories of tragic tour bus accidents, so it's understandable that fans would be concerned, but One Direction seem to have gotten lucky and escaped injury. The group, which formed on the U.K. version of 'X Factor,' is still planning a U.S. tour starting in February with Big Time Rush.
