One Direction are getting animated and we're not just talking about their outgoing personalities. The boys are getting cartoonified for The Beano, a British children's comic! The 1D'ers will appear in a special issue alongside other British stars like Jessie J and Olly Murs to benefit Comic Relief.

The guys released a statement saying, (via BBC Radio 1), "We've grown up with the magazine so now to actually appear in it with Dennis and Gnasher themselves is incredible." Dennis refers to the comic's character Dennis the Menace and his BFF dog is Gnasher.

The plot of this special charity issue is that the guys, along with Jessie J and Olly Murs, are helping Dennis the Menace and Minnie the Minx (another comic character) put on a special charity concert. Editor-in-chief of The Beano, Mike Stirling told BBC Radio 1, "It was brilliant fun imagining how Jessie, Olly... and 1D would interact with our mischievous characters." Talk about a motley crew! We can only surmise how much fun the animators and writers had creating this tale... and for a good cause too!

One Direction have gotten heavily involved in this year's Red Nose Day for Comic Relief, so it's no surprise they are lending their name to this project. They recorded the official single for the event, a cover of Blondie's 'One Way or Another,' and toured Ghana to raise awareness for the cause.

We're all for using your name for charity and the boys of 1D are doing it right!
