One Direction, ‘Live While We’re Young’ – Song Review
Anyone over the age of 21, make sure you have ear plugs handy.
One Direction fans are going to go wild over the band's latest single 'Live While We're Young.' The band smartly hasn't strayed from catchy hooks and foot-tapping beats, so prepare yourselves to unwittingly sing along in the car.
'Live While We're Young' starts off with a guitar riff reminiscent of the Clash's 'Should I Stay or Should I Go,' before quickening the pace of the guitar to begin the first verse. Familiar sounds seem to be 1D's MO -- the beginning to 'What Makes You Beautiful' sounds an awful lot like 'Summer Nights' from 'Grease' -- and we're totally OK with both.
The guys of 1D stick to what they do best, offering a crazy catchy chorus that you're bound to have memorized by the end of the song, "Let’s go crazy, crazy, crazy till we see the sun/I know we only met but let's pretend it's love /And never, never, never stop for anyone/Tonight let's get some, and live while we're young."
The song is bouncy and irresistible to anyone who comes across it, and if you thought ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ and ‘One Thing’ were the perfect mindless and purely fun songs, then add ‘Live While We’re Young’ to your list.
The new 1D single was produced by Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk, and Savan Kotecha, the same guys who produced all of the other One Direction hits, so there's really no surprise as to why their latest is bubblegum pop perfection. It's the ultimate ear candy for anyone looking for good, upbeat music that you can dance and jump around to.
The single and video for 'Live While We're Young' wasn't expected to be released until Oct. 1, so thank your lucky stars that they were both leaked early, because you're going to get hooked fast.
Now excuse us while we hit the repeat button.
