Many (but not all) Directioners have spewed dislike towards Eleanor Calder, the girlfriend of One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, simply because she is lucky enough to be in a relationship with him and because he fancies her.

It's a fact that confounds the singer, but that's the least of his worries, since he and Calder have to work extra hard on keeping the romantic flame burning. Why? Because they are in a long distance relationship, which requires extra effort.

Tomlinson (who is touring the U.S.) and Calder (who is a political and sociology student at the University of Manchester in addition to being a Hollister model), had a romantic rendezvous in Niagara Falls recently. He shared some of the secrets of their successful long distance relationship, telling Hollywoood Life, "At the end of the day, if you want it to work, it will work. It just requires probably more effort. If your heart's in it, then you're not gonna mess about." Spoken like a man who knows.

Tomlinson also admitted that he doesn't like the Twitter hate Directioners have demonstrated towards his lady love, which is a byproduct of his newfound fame. It's a vocal minority, but it's still an irritant. "It's really strange and the majority (of fans) don't have hate towards her," he said. "It gets a little frustrating seeing that, especially when I'm in a happy relationship. But at the end of the day, I am happy and Eleanor is happy."

Directioners, if you really love Louis, then you'll be happy that he's happy. Don't playa hate.
