Paul Apted, who has worked as a sound editor on blockbuster movies such as 'The Fault in Our Stars,' 'The Wolverine' and 'A Good Day to Die Hard,' has died at the age of 47. Variety reports that Apted had been battling colon cancer.

Josh Boone, the director of 'The Fault in Our Stars,' tweeted last night upon receiving news of Apted's death, saying, "You will be missed, sir. It was a privilege."

Paul Apted was the son of British director Michael Apted, who has directed films such as 'Nell,' 'The World Is Not Enough' and 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.'

Funeral arrangements will be held in Hollywood and in the U.K. at a later date, where Paul was born.

We send our regards to the entire cast and crew of 'The Fault in Our Stars,' as well as to the Apted family.
