Former 'American Idol' finalist Pia Toscano and her ballroom dancing pro beau Mark Ballas have parted ways, according to E! News. The reports say that Toscano, 22, and Ballas, 25, who began dating in April, recently called off their relationship due to their demanding schedules and lives.

While neither rep for the couple confirmed the rumors, a spokesperson for Toscano did say the singer is putting focus into her busy career at the moment. "She's hard at work on her new album and can't wait for her fans to hear it. Pia is wrapping up her 'American Idol' tour, and her album is expected to be released soon."

A source close to the twosome tells PEOPLE magazine, "They both decided with everything going on that they couldn't give each other what would be fair. They mutually decided [to break up]."

As Toscano continues to chip away at her highly-anticipated new music, Ballas is hard at work, gearing up for the 13th season of 'Dancing With the Stars.' In the new season, Ballas partners up with reality TV star Kristin Cavallari. 'Dancing With the Stars' will start back up on Monday, Sept. 19 on ABC.
