Pia Toscano performed her debut single, 'This Time,' on the first American Idols Live! tour stop in West Valley City, Utah on July 6.

The song is scheduled to be released on July 12, but the fan favorite decided to bump up the unveiling with a live rendition at the Maverik Center last night. Toscano revealed the empowered pop single to the audience, which reacted with resounding applause at the first listen.

'This Time' was written and co-produced by Ester Dean, who has penned hits for the likes of Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Rihanna and more. The recorded track is backed by an acoustic guitar and a strong beat, showcasing the New York native's powerful voice.

The live performance was likely a celebratory one. Before the show, the Season 10 'American Idol' contestant announced that she has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Interscope Records. "I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family," Toscano said in a press release. "[Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I’m looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true."

The American Idols Live! tour got off to a strong start in Utah, and is scheduled to power through the summer before concluding on Sept. 10 in Rochester, N.Y. Toscano is scheduled to hit the studio to record her debut album later this year.
