Pink Covers The Advocate in Sexy Tux, Says She Was ‘Honorary Lesbian of L.A.’
Pink is not just a CoverGirl. She’s a cover girl, for The Advocate, a gay publication. While the ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’ songstress is not a gay icon on Lady Gaga‘s level, she’s full of spunk and there is an androgynous quality to her look and style.
She looks stunning, with her punky, white hot hair and averted stare. She’s wearing a Madonna-like, sexy tux-style outfit, pairing a sheer corset and blazer with statement shoulders. Pink avoids looking like she came screaming out of the ’80s with the shape of the shoulders on her blazer; they are pointy and modern in the most fashion-forward way. There are studded taped Xs over her nips, so no slips there.
In her feature, sexuality is discussed, since rumors of Pink being bisexual surfaced years ago. She never labeled herself on any level, sexual or professional, but she did confirm that she is not bisexual. She also explained how those rumors took off.
“Honestly, I’ve never defined myself,” Pink said. “I’ve never felt the need to. I still don’t. It’s just like how everyone’s like, ‘Well, what kind of music do you do?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t. I just do it.’ And f— it, if you can’t understand it, I’m a mystery bag.”
She also shares that when she first moved to the West Coast, she was “an honorary lesbian of Los Angeles,” which sparked the false reports of her dating preferences. “I loved my little girlfriends and we kissed and we had a great time and we held hands,” she recalled. “I wasn’t gay, but all my girlfriends were. So no, it wasn’t a big deal for me, but when [a tabloid] comes out and says, I just said I was bisexual, it’s like what? That wasn’t my truth, and I like truth. I like absolute truth.”
Pink is stoked to get back on the road to promote her No. 1 album ‘The Truth About Love,’ likening it to therapy. “That’s why I do it, because I know it’s more important than what I’m wearing, it’s more about what we’re doing or what we’re saying together, me and this audience,” the singer said.
