Pink’s music video for her latest single 'F---in’ Perfect,' follows the recent No. 1 single 'Raise Your Glass' off her 'Greatest Hits... So Far!!!' and uplifts with a powerful and disturbing series of visuals.

"My favorite books, art pieces, films, and music, always have something jarring about them," Pink responsibly addressed on her Website the day the video premiered to fans or anyone who may question the difficult images in the video that illustrate issues of low self-esteem and depression, drug abuse and cutting. "I want art to make me think. In order to do that, it may piss me off, or make me uncomfortable. [But] that promotes awareness and change, or at least some discussion. That is my intention."

She adds, "Making this video was a very emotional experience for me, as was writing this song. I have a life inside of me, and I want [the kids addressed in this video] to know that I will accept him or her with open and loving and welcoming arms."

Additionally, the video is the product of a loyal professional relationship that has really become more of a partnership between the artist and music video veteran, director Dave Meyers. "I've never ever had a hesitation from Pink on anything," Meyers tells PopCrush. "She gives me permission to keep upping the ante … Pink represents, in her entire career the underdog and represents those women. It was an opportunity to be very poignant and speak directly to those people. I think Pink lives with some of these issues as well, and she finds it her calling to sort of take on representing this under-represented group of women. It’s probably a much larger group of women than the pretty girls that some of the other pop stars [represent]."

The narrative starts with a young woman whose life flashes before her when she looks over at her old teddy bear after some meaningless sex. She remembers moments of weakness, fights on the schoolyard, being excluded from invitations, arguing with parents, dealing with her body image, being bullied by classmates and finally -- cutting. Dealing with emotional pain that has been building up and desperate for answers, 'Napoleon Dynamite''s star Tina Majorino uses a razor blade to write the word "PERFECT" into her skin. It’s a nauseating scene, but once Majorino's character notices the teddy bear sitting in the corner, the mood shifts optimistically as Pink hits a glorious, climactic note in the chorus. The songwriting by Pink, Max Martin and Shellback are near perfection -- providing the artist with an outlet for truly raw vocals and a message that is brought to life in the video.

The story, however, comes together at the end with several turning points, with Majorino's character cutting her hair and realizing all of the negative moments in her life were really a way to gain strength and become the beautiful person that she is today. She is seen smiling while painting an image of herself when things were tough, using the outlet as an opportunity to move on. The camera pans out on the painting and we find Pink singing the final chorus in a gallery or room of projections. "It's sort of like her inner psyche of watching your life, where she's a narrator, so it's more about watching your life on the walls," adds Meyers. "It’s an abstract place for her to sing a couple lines and deliver her emotionality which is definitely in the singing of the song and then quickly getting back to the acting and the storyline."

Majorino's character appropriately raises her glass to Pink from a distance, and later she takes the same teddy bear she grew up with and places it next to her daughter while she's sleeping. By taking the video full circle, Meyers and Pink collaboratively address important self-esteem issues while proving that the character has overcome her emotional obstacles.
