Pop Stars Express Concerns for Tsunami Victims Via Twitter
A few days ago, news broke that Japan had been struck by a massive earthquake registering at 8.9 on the Richter scale. As a result of the earthquake, which is the worst (recorded) to hit Japan in the country's history, tsunami waves began crashing onto the shores of the island. The devastation caused by the tsunamis has been staggering, with a huge amount of casualties, overwhelming destruction, and the displacement of thousands of survivors.
When footage of the horrific tsunami waves, which also hit parts of Hawaii and the Western coast of the US began to surface on Friday (March 11), celebrities began to post their concerns on Twitter. Some stars like Justin Bieber expressed their heartfelt sadness for the people of Japan, while others like Diddy posted ways to assist in relief efforts. You can also visit the Red Cross website or GlobalGiving's official website to volunteer or donate money to help the tsunami relief efforts.
