‘Pretty Little Liars’ Spoilers: Why Was Ezra in Ravenswood in ‘Grave New World’?

You may recall that in the 'Pretty Little Liars' Halloween special 'Grave New World' (4x13), Ezra was in Ravenswood dressed up like an old time soldier complete with gas mask. But why was he there in the first place?

Now that we know that Ezra is not A (according to executive producer Marlene King), the question remains: why was he wearing a gas mask while following the girls around Ravenswood in the first place much like the actual A?

According to Marlene, "I think there were two gas masks that night."

Meaning that the person who Spencer had a scuffle with and who locked Hanna in a phone booth was the real A and not Spencer at all. And they both had the same costume because that's all that was left at the shop? A knew what Ezra would be wearing and wanted to imitate him to confuse the audience?

As for why Ezra was even in Ravenswood at all, Marlene added, "I think he followed the trail of Ali, I think Ali went to Ravenswood first and Ezra was following her trail."

So there you have it, Ezra was following Ali around to get fodder for his book and just happened to be dressed like a psychopath at the same time. Which honestly is no less creepy.
