Elizabeth Bennet Kicks Demon Ass in ‘Pride And Prejudice And Zombies’ Trailer

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's 2009 horror-comedy-romance novel, asks the natural question: What if Mr. Darcy or Lady Catherine de Bourgh moonlighted as zombie-assassins? Well, in the trailer above, straight from Entertainment Weekly, we get an early look.

According to EW, the movie will reimagine Jane Austen's beloved 1813 work in a world where victims of a plague have mutated into monsters. But rather than cower in canopied beds or journal about consuming fears, the story's leading ladies decide to stand up, arm themselves and straight-up kick some zombie ass.

"I shall never relinquish my sword for a ring," Elizabeth insists between shots that find her driving blades through her opponents.

"It’s pretty great to be in a film where the five Bennet sisters are sort of the strongest characters in it and are completely able to take care of themselves,” star Lily James, who plays Elizabeth, told the site. “Really, none of them needs a man."
