Twenty-two-year-old multi-platinum Latin recording artist Prince Royce has signed to Atlantic Records, and is set to release both Spanish and English language albums on the label.

The deal is in conjunction with Top Stop Music, the label co-owned by Latin music producer Sergio George and Gregory Elias, who signed Royce in 2009. According to Billboard, Atlantic's executive VP of A&R Mike Caren discovered Royce's music on MySpace and reached out to George last November.

“We are thrilled and honored to welcome Prince Royce into the Atlantic family,” Atlantic Chairman/CEO Craig Kallman said in a press release. “He is bringing the vibrant sound of bachata not only into the dynamic world of contemporary Latin music, but into the pop and urban mainstream."

In April, Royce’s 2010 self-titled debut became the No. 1 Latin album in the country and has reached double-platinum status, thanks to chart-topping singles like 'Stand By Me' and 'Corazón Sin Cara.' The singer-songwriter's bilingual Ben E. King cover reached the No. 1 position on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart, and its accompanying video has been viewed over 3 million times on YouTube.

Royce's debut earned the Bronx native a 2010 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tropical Contemporary Album, four 2011 Latin Billboard Awards and a record-breaking eight nominations for the 2011 Premios Juventud Awards.

Royce's new album may not be released until 2012, but its first single is expected to drop in the fall, right around the time when the Latin sensation hits the road with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull.
