If Rebecca Loebe works even almost as hard as a contestant on 'The Voice' as she has as a touring musician, she should do just fine on NBC's singing competition. The indie-folk singer has played hundreds of shows across in the United States and Europe over the past three years.

Loebe, a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, released her first full-length album in 2009. The disc, titled 'Mystery Prize,' spent several weeks on the Americana chart, and earned her many accolades in the folk community. While she has her feet planted firmly in the indie scene, the Atlanta-based singer sees 'The Voice' as a great opportunity to take the next step in her music career.

"I've never thought about auditioning for a singing TV show because I've always assumed that they're not looking for folk singers who write their own music and sometimes live out of their cars," writes Loebe in a blog post. "When I heard about 'The Voice,' though, I was intrigued by the 'Blind Audition' concept and something in my gut told me that it sounded different and might be worth a shot."

Loebe's instincts led her in the right direction, as she impressed the coaches on 'The Voice' with her stripped-down performance of Nirvana's 'Come As You Are.' When forced to choose between Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine, she ended up choosing the Maroon 5 frontman. "My gut pulled me towards Adam because, as a singer-songwriter, it feels like a good idea to try and get to know someone who makes a living singing songs they write," explains Loebe.
