Rihanna's getting handsy. The singer added to her intricate hand tattoo...again! There's no possible way she can cover that up. Just sayin'.

Earlier this month, RiRi added to the traditional Maori tattoo she already had on her right paw. She got that tattoo done in New Zealand and it is said to be the most painful form of tattooing, since the ink is applied with a hammer and chisel, as opposed to a needle. Now she has enhanced it again.

Tattoo artists Bang Bang McCurdy and Cally-Jo of Bang Bang NYC packed up their tools and headed to the Dominican Republic to launch an 11-hour (!!!) ink sesh with RiRi on Sunday (Oct. 27). We're fairly certain she picked up the airfare and flew 'em down.

The new tatt was worked into the pre-existing etchings. Bang Bang told E!, "We drew on her hand from 7PM to midnight. We were drawing and changing things. I'd take a break and Cally-Jo would draw, then I'd draw...The inspiration was henna art, we wanted something really decorative, feminine and sexy. We thought that was the closest in style where we could shift and make it look decorative."

Since RiRi already had etchings on her hand, the Bang Bang crew had to work to cover up parts of it without corrupting or interfering with the artistic integrity of the ones she already had. He said, "[We] wanted to make sure it flowed. We needed to work with what she already had." That's not easy, since they had to merge two aesthetics, both covering and combining.

The Maori tattoos are also raised on the skin, as opposed to ink being injected underneath.

Bang Bang revealed that they had to work to perfect it and at one point, RiRi took a nap. They worked 'til they got it right, though, since the hand is not something that Rihanna can conceal.

They ended up with a happy customer, with Bang Squared saying, "Ri flipped out! Absolutely loved it, loved it! It's a hard thing when you get a tattoo and not absolutely love it. It's uncomfortable to have something on your hand, especially when it's in such a visible spot, and she's such a visible person. Your hand is as closely related as your face. If you think about it, her hand is right there and the whole world is watching it."
