We've got good news and bad news, Rihanna and Katy Perry fans. Good news first. The besties are working on a song together and RiRi revealed that the collab will see the light of day eventually. The bad news? It won't be coming out any time soon. Foiled!

"We have been working on this for years," RiRi told Access Hollywood during a sitdown chat. She admitted, "The song will probably come out in a while. I won't say it's happening right now, but it's gonna happen."

RiRi, looking gorgeous with her shaggy blond locks and a lemon yellow tank top, gushed about Perry, saying, "She is one of my favorite musicians and one of my favorite people in the industry." The 'We Found Love' singer called her bestie "very uncalculated and very sure of herself. It is rare in this industry." That's why the two fashionistas who change their looks with increasing regularity connected so quickly and so deeply.

When asked if she and Perry have mani/pedi dates, Ri revealed that they make every concerted effort to see one another when they are in the same city, which isn't often. "We have dinner and bachelorette parties," Rihanna revealed. Now that both ladies are single and eligible, they need to head out on some double speed dates.

RiRi also admitted that when they happen to be in the same zip code, they "try and see each other five minutes for a hug" or they'll party all night at a random after party from an awards show. "We try and hang out as often as we can," she said.

The Barbados-born beauty also said that she is not working on recording new music right now, but she has started working on a "new sound." She and her team built a roomier schedule for 2012. While Ri is known for releasing an album a year, she might not do that in 2012. "We left room for other playing fields: music, movies, fashion." She admitted to loving the creative aspect of designing and that she is getting more and more involved in that world. She is a well-known fashion risk-taker, so she has certainly found another creative niche.
