Rihanna + Designer Mel Ottenberg Share Inspiration Behind Loud Tour Wardrobe
Rihanna is traveling around the country on her Loud tour, and now the R&B superstar is offering fans a look at the stunning costumes for the North American run.
In the video, the 23-year-old is shown discussing looks with her team, led by designer Mel Ottenberg. The singer is taking a look at wardrobe panels for her dancers, making sure everything is up to her standards.
Over the sounds of 'Take a Bow,' Rihanna explains, "We're just looking at everything as a whole to see how it works together ... And we love it."
Later, we see the 'S&M' singer trying out rhinestone encrusted glasses and looking at the camera saying, “You look like diamonds, baby. You look like a million bucks.” She continues to goof around by putting a Rasta-inspired headband on her friend and then launching into a silly dance.
The video shows glimpses of florescent colored booties, face masks and body armor, as well as metal tops and intricately embroidered pieces for the pop star. Finally, we get to see tailors and seamstresses at work in an expansive design space.
The Loud tour, featuring special guest Cee Lo Green, hits Vancouver, B.C. tonight and will wrap on July 24 in Boston, Mass.
