Rihanna Selfie Leads to Pair’s Arrest in Thailand
Even when Rihanna isn't being provocative she's being provocative. Turns out those seemingly innocent selfies she posted on Instagram showing her posing with wildlife in Thailand got a couple of guys in hot water with local authorities.
Among the photos showing her being cute with elephants was one shot of her with an absolutely adorable little creature called a slow loris. She captioned the shot, which was liked by more than 200,000 of her fans, "Look who was talkin dirty to me! #Thailand #nightlife." Unfortunately, it turns out that the lemur-looking primate is a protected species in Thailand ... well, unfortunately for the animal's handlers.
Those individuals -- a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man -- face up to four years in prison and a $1,300 fine. So among Rihanna's 9.8 million followers on Instagram are Thai police officers? Not exactly: A source told the Associated Press, "Phuket authorities were alerted to the picture [and] police arrested the two individuals who brought out the loris as a photo opportunity for tourists.”
Did anyone think this Rihanna pic -- of all her crazy ones -- was going to be the one to get people arrested?
