Selena Gomez has been upping her sartorial game in the past year, but we're still surprised to see her channel Rihanna as a style icon.

The two singers were photographed wearing dramatic, tall black boots. It's a risky look, but we think they both pull it off! Who do you think wears this edgy footwear better?

Pretty much everything Rihanna does is seductive. (She even makes getting a painful tattoo look like a walk in the park!) It's no surprise that she would rock over knee leather boots while performing. She still managed to show some leg, however, as she paired the shoes with short shorts and a sheer shirt.

Selena, on the other hand, kept things elegant when she wore knee-high gladiator boots. The cutouts in the shoes edged the look up, but Selena opted to wear a belted trench coat and keep the makeup to a minimum, as not to overpower the boots.
