Although Robin Thicke and his now ex-wife Paula Patton first separated well over a year ago, the couple were not officially divorced until now. According to E! News, the divorce was granted yesterday (March 17), nearly six months after Patton first filed for divorce from the "Blurred Lines" singer, citing the standard "irreconcilable differences," as the reason for the dissolution of their marriage.

The site goes on to say that their divorce will be finalized on April 14. Patton and Thicke began dating back in 1993, eventually marrying in 2005. They have one child together, Julian Fuego Thicke, who was born in 2010. The couple separated at the start of 2014 and released a statement at the time saying (all quotes via E! News), "We will always love each other and be best friends however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."

Patton recently appeared on Good Morning America, where she spoke about her break up, saying, "I'm doing really well. I mean, the honest truth is it has been challenging but it's been a year of growth, lots of healing, learning about all new things, but I've come out of it stronger." She continued, "My son's happy. And I'm very -- you know, I feel like everything happens for a reason. And then you have to move on and grow from there."

Months after their initial separation, Thicke recorded an album called Paula and tried to win her back publicly. He said, at the time, "When you lose the love of your life, you don't have much to hide anymore." The album was not a success, and neither were his attempts to reconcile with Patton.
