Robin Thicke doesn’t know how to take no for an answer.

It’s no secret that the 37-year-old singer has been desperately trying to win back his estranged wife, Paula Patton. The couple were married for nine years before they split earlier this year, following rumors that Thicke had been unfaithful.

In an interview with Hot 97, Thicke revealed that he hasn’t seen Patton in four months. “She’s the best girl in the world,” he added, “a great mother and still a good friend. But I also want to wish her well and let her know she’s a great person and she deserves to have a good life.”

Based on the multiple dedications to his wife before live performances, and the fact that his new album is named ‘Paula,’ it seems like he wants that good life to be lived with him. Clearly he’s hoping for a reconciliation of their 20 years-long relationship.

“If you’ve been together that long, you kind of become adults together instead of being adults and then meeting,” he shared. “But maybe a year or two off, we’ll become our own people without each other and then it will be meant to be.”

As for the cause of the split, the ‘Blurred Lines’ star was cryptic with what he revealed: “I changed, and I got a little too selfish, and a little too greedy and a little too full of myself.”
