Coldplay's newest single 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall' recently got a makeover, thanks to Swedish pop princess Robyn. Robyn manages to keep the emotional quality of the lyrics, while simultaneously stamping the anthemic lovesick Coldplay tune with her own signature electronic dance-pop style.

The musical changes in Robyn's version of 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall' are immediately recognizable. While Coldplay's original has some electro elements, the music is much more complex than Robyn's stripped-down rendition. Instead of using the British band's beat, which features layers of digitally-altered keys and melodic guitar segments, Robyn incorporates a simple whirring synth with a steady 808 beat.

The combination of Robyn's dance-pop touch and her sweetly captivating vocals yields a toe-tapping, ethereal version of 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall.' We're sure Chris Martin and the rest of the Coldplay clan are jamming to the Robyn cover as we speak.

The groovable 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall' rendition isn't the first pop song Robyn has made her own. In the past, the 'Dancing on My Own' songstress has covered Kelly Clarkson's 'Since U Been Gone', Prince's 'When Doves Cry' and plenty of others.
