Sarah Jessica Parker Goes Bridal at the 2017 Golden Globes

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker has a sense of humor. The fashion icon walked the red carpet at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards in a literal wedding dress, after being nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for playing Frances Dufresne in Divorce.

Parker wore the architectural ivory ball gown from Vera Wang's Fall 2017 bridal collection cinched at the waist with a studded jewel belt and carried a velvet clutch. To highlight the dress's naked shoulders, the actress wore her hair up in romantic Princess Leia–reminiscent braids.

This marks Parker's ninth Golden Globe nomination. She won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004 for playing Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. She was also nominated for this same Golden Globe in 1996, 2003 and 2005 as well as Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 2006 for The Family Stone.

Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony takes place at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Sunday, January 8, broadcast live on NBC beginning at 8 PM EST. The 2017 Golden Globes nominees were announced on December 12, with actress Meryl Streep selected as the honoree of the year’s Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
