While many women might faint on the spot at being surprised by Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson had a much different approach.

The actress was promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron on The Ellen Show when her co-star snuck out from backstage and epically scared her. ScarJo was in the middle of discussing the male actors in the franchise ("[Chris] Hemsworth's hair takes much longer than mine [to style]," she joked) when Ellen DeGeneres brought up Evans.

"We've been working together since we were like seventeen, I think," Scarlett said of actor who plays Captain America. "I know him very well. Too well!" Cue Chris creeping out on stage behind the actress.

Scarlett's reaction to the surprise is totally hilarious. Normally she seems pretty laid back, but her reaction is 100 percent genuine. (It's almost as funny as her "drunk crying" in her Saturday Night Live promos.)

"That was terrifying!" she exclaimed as the audience clapped. (To be fair, Ellen is known for giving her guests some jump-scares. Scarlett should have known something was coming.)

The Avengers: Age of Ultron cast is putting in serious work on the promotion circuit. While they kind of failed at playing Family Feud with Jimmy Kimmel, Jeremy Renner crushed his Hawkeye-themed cover of Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud." And then, of course, there's the Sesame Street parody called "Aveggies."

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1. You can watch Scarlett's Chris Evans-related freakout in the video above!
