Scars on 45 Give Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ a Mellow Arrangement
The Rihanna and Calvin Harris smash 'We Found Love' becomes a sensitive ballad in the hands of British indie band Scars on 45, who performed the track for VH1's 'You Oughta Know Live.'
Another U.K. band (Coldplay) already released a cover of 'We Found Love,' but the Scars on 45 version is nothing like that jazzy rendition. The Scars performance is built around keyboards, an acoustic guitar, and the vocals of Danny Bemrose and Aimee Driver, who alternate verses and harmonize on the chorus.
Without the electro climaxes, the song runs just over two minutes and takes on a more melancholy tone, with extra emphasis on the "We've just got to let it go" line.
Scars on 45 released the four-song digital EP 'Heart on Fire' in October. The title track made an impact at some radio formats and appeared on the 'Grey's Anatomy, Volume 4' soundtrack alongside music by Cee Lo Green and the National.
