Sean Kingston is slowly recovering from his jet ski crash on Sunday. TMZ reports the singer is now alert and awake.

The site reports the 'Beautiful Girls' singer is still unable to talk because he has a breathing tube in his throat, but he's able to communicate with nods and sign language.

Kingston reportedly received a broken jaw and fractured wrist in the Miami Beach accident. His friend Cassandra Sanchez, also injured in the crash, said they were going "really fast" before hitting a bridge. She said she saw the jet ski approaching the bridge and asked Kingston to stop, at which time he veered away and lost control.

The 21-year-old singer appears to have a couple more weeks of hospital care in front of him, but it's great to hear things are looking up.
