Selena Gomez has been working with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, visiting kids in the hospital to lift their spirits and share the gift of music. Today, Seacrest announced he has selected Gomez to be an ambassador to the non-profit organization.

Seacrest announced on the air, "We have invited Selena to be an official ambassador to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation because she does such amazing work, and the kids absolutely melt when she's around."

The Ryan Seacrest Foundation is a non-profit organization "dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seriously ill and injured children through unique programs that utilize multimedia and interactive platforms to enlighten, entertain and educate," according to its mission statement. Its next project will be to build a broadcast center in Gomez's hometown of Dallas for hospitalized kids to have an opportunity to learn about radio, television and multimedia.

Gomez also chatted with Seacrest about her Spanish album, her next movie, and hearing Justin Bieber's song 'Boyfriend' for the first time.
