Pass the tissues, please! Selena Gomez delivers a tearjerker performance in her upcoming movie 'Rudderless' in a scene posted by The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie -- which is William H. Macy's directorial debut -- stars Billy Crudup who plays Sam -- a former ad-executive who goes on a two-year bender as a way of coping with his son's untimely death. He soon comes to find his son had been creating original music, and Sam uses the songs as a way of posthumously getting to know him.

In the clip above, we see Billy Crudup's Sam sitting on his son's bed and staring off into space when he's interrupted by Selena's Kate. She enters the room and tearfully introduces herself as his son's girlfriend of a year. Once she realizes who Sam is, she tells him: "He spoke about you ... highly of you," leading the viewer to infer that Sam might have been an absent father in some respects. Kate ultimately breaks down in tears and is comforted by Sam's ex-wife, played by Felicity Huffman.

It's an emotionally charged scene, with both Billy and Selena delivering understated yet powerful performances, both devastated by their loss, but displaying it in completely different ways. It seems safe to say there won't be a dry eye in the theater.

The movie is set to be released on Oct. 17 both in theaters and to video-on-demand. Until then, you can check out Selena in the clip above!
