Selena Gomez nabbed the cover of i-D magazine's street style issue, giving us a big ol' wink, as a tangle of black waves frames that beautiful face of hers. The singer rocked the menswear trend in one of the inner photos, and revealed that her shyness nearly cost her her big break.

"I was actually really shy as a child," the singer and actress, who just notched her first No. 1 album with 'Stars Dance' and who has earned the love of the Brangelina brood, said. "My first audition did not go well. I was very awkward. It was in front of a bunch of suits at Disney and I definitely felt I blew it. It took me a long time to let go.”

Good thing she did let it go -- look at her now.

The singer spoke about doing the shoot for this magazine, which was raw and less glam than she is used to, saying, "I love doing shoots overseas. Actually being there and feeling the environment adds a realness to the shoot. It’s so easy to wear incredible, beautiful dresses and look super glamorous, because you have the power of Photoshop, but a shoot that’s really stripped-down and raw is really fun to do. I was being rained on, it was freezing, I was covered in a giant sweater and my hair was all over the place. I got to just be in that moment and feel like I was there.”

Got that? Sel likes it authentic and real, yo.

The singer is about to hit the road on the Stars Dance tour, and she's going to make it worth your while. "I wanted it to be bigger and better than the last tour, so the stage and the presentation are gonna be really fun," she said.

We're game!

Check out one of the raw, unglam photos from the shoot. That's Sel, looking makeup free and offering her take on menswear. She looks like she is a member of a new wave band from '80s England.
