Listen up, Selenators! Selena Gomez is slated to star alongside Paul Rudd in the Rob Burnett directed film 'The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving.'

Deadline is reporting that the movie is an indie drama that will star Paul Rudd as a caregiver for a teenage boy named Trevor, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy -- a muscle disorder that sees a person's muscles become weaker over time. Trevor winds up meeting Selena's character, Dot, who is described as "a sassy 17-year-old who hitches a ride with the pair during a road trip, and whose forwardness and lack of embarrassment about Trevor's condition causes him to develop a crush on her."

Sounds pretty interesting to us! We really appreciate the fact that Selena is so willing to take risks with her career. Rather than stick to huge blockbusters that she could undoubtedly pull, she often opts for indie dramas that she really believes in. She most notably had a part in Harmony Korrine's controversial 'Spring Breakers,' which allowed fans to see the former Disney star in a new light. She also recently had a role in William H. Macy's directorial debut, 'Rudderless,' which first premiered at Sundance.
