Selena Gomez Thinks It’s ‘Weird’ Girls Hate Her Just Because She’s Dating Justin Bieber

Young love is as fun as it is hard. But while it might be even more fun to be in love when you are young, rich and famous, it also must be more difficult, especially when your boyfriend's fans target you because they are jealous and the press is constantly monitoring your every move. That's the situation that teen queen Selena Gomez has found herself in!

Gomez has never been afraid to address Beliebers who choose to dislike her just because she is Justin Bieber's girlfriend. Once the couple went public with their relationship at the Oscars this winter and on vacation this spring -- events which were illuminated by paparazzi flashbulbs -- Gomez became the target of some nasty death threats and some haters even created "I Hate Selena Gomez" Facebook profiles. Yikes, right? Poor Selena. She seems so sweet.

While Gomez did initially address all the hatin', saying she said she understands and respects the love that fans have for him, it might be starting to wear on Gomez, 18. The Daily Record reports that Gomez has once again piped up about her situation, saying, "It's weird, it's just weird, but I don't pay attention to it, I just try to live my life as normal as possible."

Living her life as normal as possible means avoiding tabloids. Gomez continued, "I just like to not focus on what the whole world is saying about me and just be happy with myself. I try to not read magazines or the internet but it's obviously unavoidable. I mean, it's everywhere, so there are moments where I read things that hurt my feelings. But not most of the time. I don't surround my life with magazines or the internet."

That's a healthy way of life for Gomez to adopt. Sticks and stones, Selena. Sticks and stones. And you are the one the Biebs chooses to be with, so you've certainly got the last of the laughs.
