Shailene Woodley Honored as ‘Trailblazer’ at 2015 MTV Movie Awards

With the 2015 MTV Movie Awards hot on the horizon, we're more than excited to hear that two of our favorite powerhouse female stars have been added to the event's roster.

Shailene Woodley will receive the MTV Trailblazer Award for "blazing a distinctive and innovative path for her Hollywood peers," the channel announced. Even better, the 23-year-old actress will be presented the award by her Insurgent and The Spectacular Now co-star Miles Teller.

"Shailene Woodley is one of the most talented actresses of this generation," Stephen Friedman, president of MTV, said in a statement. "Whether baring her soul in emotionally charged roles in The Descendents and The Fault In Our Stars or igniting our imagination in sci-fi blockbusters like Insurgent, Shailene has raised the bar for actresses navigating diverse and challenging roles professionally, while personally remaining down-to-earth and accessible to her fans.”

Shailene will be the fourth recipient of the award, joining previous honorees stars Emma Stone, Emma Watson and Channing Tatum.

MTV has also just announced that Jessie J will co-host the red carpet pre-show alongside Josh Horowitz. The fashion and celeb chit-chat starts at 7:30PM ET.

The 2015 MTV Movie Awards will take place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 12 at 8PM ET. The always hilarious Amy Schumer is the host. Be sure to check out all the nominees before the show and cast your votes at MTV.com.
