Shailene Woodley graces the cover of The Hollywood Reporter in its March 14 issue, looking relaxed yet stunning with her messy new pixie cut (she shore her hair for 'The Fault in Our Stars,' in which she plays a cancer patient.) In the mag, Woodley revealed bits and pieces of her hippie-like lifestyle (she only wears used clothes and carries a mason jar of water with her) and also discusses what a pivotal role Jennifer Lawrence has played in her life.

Though Woodley initially had reservations about starring in a blockbuster sci-fi franchise (she is set to star in 'Divergent'), the director of the film wanted her for the role so badly that he called on Jennifer Lawrence to talk the former 'Secret Life of the American Teenager' actress into it.

"'You must do it. You will not regret it for a second," Lawrence advised Woodley in a series of emails. "Yes, there are some hard things, but there are so many beautiful things that will come from an opportunity like this.'"

Needless to say, Woodley took her advice -- and now sits at the cusp of superstardom, with 'Divergent' just weeks away from being released. (It hits theaters March 21.)

Still, Woodley isn't about to completely follow in Lawrence's footsteps. For one, she isn't afraid to get naked when the role calls for it.

"When somebody's doing a sex scene and they're wearing a bra and underwear, that's not how it happens in real life," she explained about her role in 'White Bird in a Blizzard,' which recently screened at the Sundance Film Festival. "If I'm going to say yes to a movie where this is necessary, then I'm going to bring truth to that situation."

Woodley further expanded on her desire to be true when THR journalist asks her a personal question. After sensing that she may be involved in a romantic relationship with her two best friends, whom she brought to Sundance with her, the reporter asks her if she is in a relationship with them. Woodley denies it with a laugh, but replies:

"I fall in love with human beings based on who they are, not based on what they do or what sex they are."

One thing is for sure: Shailene Woodley is unique and not afraid to be herself. We can't wait to see what 'Divergent' has in store for her.
