The 37-year-old Colombian native was given the honor of releasing the 2010 World Cup's official anthem, 'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),' which became the best-selling World Cup song of all time. While her song for the Brazil games, 'La La La (Brazil 2014),' wasn't named the official anthem, it does appear on FIFA's official soundtrack album.

In addition to Shakira, Wyclef Jean, Carlos Santana, and Brazilian singers Alexandre Pires and Ivete Sangalo performed for the stadium as well. Santana, Wyclef and Alexandre Pires performed their anthem for the games, 'Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find a Way).'
