On Nov. 9, Shakira was honored by the Latin Recording Academy with the Person of the Year award. Many stars from the Latin music community were there to honor the 'Rabiosa' songstress, including Marc Anthony. According to Fox News Latino, 34-year-old Shakira is the youngest person to ever receive the revered award.

The Colombian siren looked gorgeous at the ceremony, wearing a elaborate braided hairdo and a flowing, blue and green chiffon gown. "It is truly an honor to be in the company of some of the greatest artists and legends of Latin Music," Shakira said as she received her Person of the Year award.

Prior to walking onstage to accept the glass award, she teared up in the audience as many people in the Latin music industry spoke about her career achievements on stage. Shakira's father, William Mebarak, even performed at the event, and she was quite emotional while watching her dad perform in front of a slide show of personal family pictures.

It's really no wonder as to why Shakira was honored with this huge distinction. Over the course of her career, Shakira has won seven Latin Grammys, two Grammys, and has had a huge hand in philanthropic and humanitarian efforts, including acting as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

Congratulations, Shakira!
