Shia LaBeouf is really, really sorry about plagiarizing another's work. But in case you missed his numerous other mea culpas, he's taken the apology thing to a whole new level: by writing it in the sky!

The actor was outed in mid-December as having lifted passages from a 2007 graphic novella for a short film he directed, 'HowardCantour.com.' He was taken to task for failing to credit his source material, the Daniel Clowes comic 'Justin M. Damiano.'

For the past couple of weeks, LaBeouf has used his Twitter feed almost exclusively to apologize repeatedly -- although some of the wording apparently was plagiarized itself!

Shia took to the skies for his latest apology, hiring a skywriting team to spread the word over L.A. He posted a photo yesterday (Jan. 1), along with a confusing caption defining the word "cloud":

Clowes, for his part, has been "exploring his legal options," said his publisher, Eric Reynolds. And we're not sure that LaBeouf's latest message made it through to Clowes, either. According to Reynolds, "I imagine airplane messaging is the norm in Hollywood, but someone really should have informed Mr. LaBeouf that Mr. Clowes lives in the Bay Area before he went to all that trouble."
